The New Year has begun. There is something exciting about three  hundred and sixty five days ahead of us; days unspoiled by our sin,  failures, and mistakes; minutes, hours, and days to be filled with life,  happiness, and hope.  Yet if the year is really new, then we too must do things in a new way; it is  up to us to shape the days rather than letting the days shape us!  If we desire for the New Year to bring us a better family, then we must start  off by being a better man or woman.  If we want it to bring us a better  church, then we must start off by being better Christians.  If we desire the  New Year to bring us better relationships, then we must learn to do better  in showing our love and affection to others.  A date on the calendar will not bring newness to us--we must bring  newness to the date on the calendar. Don’t depend on the day to change you; rather have faith in yourself and  in God that you can be a better person.  Believe that you can make 2012  better than 2011 because you are going to be a better person.  Remember the words of the Apostle Paul: Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Happy New Year--Brother Kimball
